Quality and consistency of officiating is essential to the game of squash. Proper training and certification helps ensure that officials are knowledgeable and capable of calling a good, fair game.
Squash Canada’s Officials Certification Program allows officials to progress from an initial D-4 to A-1 certification; a journey which typically takes between six to eight years.
Initial certification is issued after participation in a Certification Clinic and successful completion of the written and practical exams. The upgrading process involves gaining more match experience and earning positive recommendations and signatures from other officials and recognized assessors. (To learn more about upgrading your certification, visit the Resources section [link] and review “The Upgrading Process”.)
