Junior National Team Selection Points Race

For each of the Junior Men World Team and Junior Women World Team Championships, a two-year selection process exists for the right to wear red and white at the world’s eminent world junior competition.

Over the course of two years, players have the opportunity to earn selection points across specifically designated events.  The top 2 point getters earn selection to Team Canada, with the point tables then being used to determine those eligible to contest for the remaining two spots via a World Junior Team Trials.

With the recent completion of the Alberta Junior Jesters event in Edmonton on November 10-12, 2017, Squash Canada has updated the running point tables, HERE.  With several key events still to come, George Crowne (ON), Akasham Rajogopaul (ON) and Ryan Picken (BC) sit atop the current standings in that order.

Junior Men are in year two of the cycle, with an eye to earning selection for the 2018 WSF Men’s World Junior Individual and Team Championships July 18-29 in Chennai, India.

Junior Women are in the first year of their selection process for the 2019 WSF Women’s World Junior Individual and Team Championships, dates and location to be announced by the World Squash Federation.

The designated selection events for 2017-18 can be found HERE.  The detailed selection criteria can be viewed HERE.
