Competition against other nations at a “home Games” can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for athletes. It is emotional and unforgettable.

The TORONTO 2015 Games will also provide a once-in-a-lifetime home Games opportunity for volunteers from across the Greater Golden Horseshoe region.

All volunteers who put on the TORONTO 2015 uniform will be front-line hosts and ambassadors.  They will embody the community pride, diversity and enthusiasm that define the Games.  They will gain valuable skills training, and will help ensure visitors and athletes from around the Americas sing the praises of our region, long after the Games are over.

Volunteers are needed for each of the 51 sports taking place during the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games, in regions across Southern Ontario.  Squash will be a key component of the Games. TO2015, the TORONTO 2015 Games Organizing Committee, needs volunteers with knowledge and passion for their sport who are ready to give their time to see both the sport and Canada’s top athletes thrive on the world stage.

Volunteering matters; just consider the story of Maureen Richards. Maureen’s lifelong volunteer passion for her sports, basketball and wheelchair basketball, was sowed at the 1967 Pan Am Games, hosted in her home city of Winnipeg.  She repeated her volunteer experience at the 1999 Games, also held in Winnipeg. With her involvement in the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games, Maureen will have had the unique distinction of being a volunteer at every Pan Am/Parapan Games that Canada has hosted.

Volunteer tasks could include preparing the field of play, recording quotes from athletes, taking tickets, transporting athletes to events, providing medical services, or even providing support behind the scenes at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

We hope yours will be among the many hands helping us deliver the largest international multi-sport event ever held in Canada.  These are your home Games. Seize the opportunity!
