2013 Black Knight Canadian Junior Championships Crown National Champions

     

    Richmond (BC) – A successful Canadian Junior Squash Championships wrapped up this past weekend at Sport Central in Richmond, BC with British Columbia’s Sam Ejtemai winning the Boys U19 title defeating #1 seed Cole Osborne of Ontario 5-11, 6-11, 11-1, 11-9, 13-11.   Hollie Naughton of Ontario captured the Girls U19 title defeating Chloe Chemtob of Quebec in 3 games.

    Ontario won 5 of the 8 titles, including Carter Robitaille (Boys 17) and Alyssa Mehta (Girls 17) who took home top honours for a second straight year. These wins helped Ontario capture the Canada Cup, a title awarded to the province who gains the most points based on nominated athletes and their final placing.  Alberta, Prince Edward Island and British Columbia were also represented at the top of the podium.     The 2013 Black Knight Canadian Junior Championships took place April 18th through 21st, 2013. Host Club Sport Central and secondary venue the River Club hosted almost 200 competitors in 8 divisions. Squash Canada would like to thank all of the individuals involved in the event, from the tournament title sponsor Black Knight, to the Tournament Director Joe Forster and his solid organizing committee at Sport Central. Thank you also to all of the volunteers who were so dedicated and worked so tirelessly throughout the event, and also to the athletes, parents and coaches for participating this year!

Mayfair Parkway is getting good practice this week, as they host the 2013 Canadian Squash Championships, our premier event of the season.
