Event Information

 

Teams

Provinces may submit one Men's and one Women's team of three players each. A fourth team member may be submitted as well as a reserve or substitute. The host province may enter two teams.

 Encounters are the best of 3 matches between competing teams.

 

How to Enter

Entries are accepted through Provincial/Territorial nomination only. Provincial/Territorial associations must complete the provided entry form and submit to the Squash Canada office.

Playing Schedule

Play begins Friday, January 9th at noon
Finals will conclude around 2pm on Sunday, January 11th

 

Team Orders

Teams must be submitted in descending order of strength.  Team orders should correspond to current national rankings, or if not applicable, provincial or territorial rankings.  Team orders that do not correspond to current national rankings must be substantiated by current sanctioned tournament results.  Any player without a current national ranking will be designated as NR (non-ranked).

 

Order of Play

The order of play is to commence as 2,1,3 and should alternate each day from 2,1,3 to 3,1,2.  The number one position must always be second in the order.  All three matches should be played consecutively on one court.

Athlete Eligibility

In order to represent a Provincial/Territorial Squash Association a competitor must be:

·     A member in good standing of the respective Provincial/Territorial Squash Association and Squash Canada.

Notwithstanding a competitor may be a member in good standing with their respective Provincial/Territorial Squash Association and Squash Canada, where a competitor is subject to a sanction imposed by the Host Club, Squash Canada shall respect that sanction, including any sanction which may preclude the person from entering the premises and thus participating in the Championships, provided the sanction was imposed using fair procedures.  Specifically, the sanctioned person must have been informed by the Host Cub of the nature of the infraction and have been given an opportunity to provide information concerning the incident prior to the sanction being imposed.

·     Be a Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or have resided continuously in Canada for one (1) year immediately preceding the Championships

·     Have been resident in the province/territory that they are representing for a minimum of ninety (90) days immediately preceding the Championships,

or

·     If a competitor is in full-time attendance at a university or college, or if a competitor has temporarily relocated to a training centre outside their home province, the competitor may compete for either their home Provincial/Territorial Squash Association or resident Provincial/Territorial Squash Association.

 

Provincial/Territorial Squash Associations may adopt further eligibility requirements in addition to the Squash Canada requirements.

Teams can reserve rooms under the Group Name "EC3D Canadian Team Championships" for a rate of $99 per night (plus taxes) for a studio room. This rate includes a breakfast buffet.

The hotel is located a bit outside of the downtown core, closer to Club Atwater. Is is a 5 min walk from the Atwater, and about 15min walk from Club Sportif MAA.

 

There are many downtown hotel options closer to MAA if teams chose to make their own arrangements.

 

Transportation

No transportation will be provided during the event.  Host clubs are located a 20 minute walk apart, and many hotels are within walking distance.

Airport transportation will not be provided. Taxi's from the airport to the club/hotel area is approximately $40.
